The monthly meetings of the Essex County Police and Fire Emerald Society are held at the Shillelagh Club,648 Prospect Avenue, West Orange, NJ.
Meetings are held at 7pm on the 4th Wednesday of every month, except for November and December (3rd Wednesday). There are no meetings held in July and August.

Emerald Society Annual Events

West Orange St. Patrick's Day Parade & Post Parade Party

Each year on the Sunday before Saint Patrick's Day, our band and our members march up Main Street. We celebrate the holiday, our Irish heritage and we honor our Law Enforcement Officer of the Year, Firefighter or the Year, and Emerald of the Year. Our post parade party is held in the cafeteria of Our Lady of Lourdes School and has an annual attendance of approximately 500 members, families and friends. It's an event not to miss.


June Meeting Barbecue / New Member Drive / Raffle Drawing

The Essex County Emerald Society will host our annual BBQ for our members before we break for the summer on the 4th Wednesday of June. Anyone interested in becoming a member is welcome to attend.  
This event begins at 6pm at the Shillelagh Club.


Annual Golf Outing

Our date for the Annual Golf Outing will be announced soon.  

Christmas Party

Our annual Christmas Party will be on  December 16, 2026 at 6:00pm. This is always a great event and there is no cost for dues paying members. Our annual college scholarships are awarded at this event.
